Whatever you do, don’t underestimate this short round trip high above Serre-Ponçon lake! The Col de Pontis (1301m) covers 5 km at an average gradient of 10% – not to be taken lightly! The reward for your efforts will be the magnificent panoramic views over the lake at every turn. On the way back down, admire the famous hoodoos known as the Demoiselles Coiffées de Pontis, a geological phenomenon caused by erosion. The return journey follows the belvedere road past Le Sauze du Lac. Serre-Ponçon is the second largest artificial lake in Europe. The dam was completed in 1959.
